For Gonzalez, who is known in the Yakima Valley for his radio and his frequent television appearances, the Health Fair this purpose week is very important, he says that the Latino community in the Yakima Valley, especially the immigrants, generally do not have good access medical care.
Whether lack of insurance, financial problems or simply not paying attention to their health, Latinos in the Valley are prone to common ailments such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems, says Gonzalez. He added that the Fair, with free screenings will be a good opportunity not to be missed.
"Getting these tests is to bring to his mouth as the snack is needed," Gonzalez said in an interview with The Sun
In the two previous shows, there are several people who give credit to the show for help with their health , and learned that they had diabetes or cardiovascular problems. González
as an example of the danger of not being screened for diabetes, a disease that primarily affects Latinos and usually not felt. More however, said Gonzalez, diabetes, as well as raise levels of blood sugar, helps to get worse all kinds of cardiovascular diseases.
And these evils, which untreated can be fatal, can receive treatment and support to start a medical exam, "Gonzalez said.
As we will not play these exams, "said Gonzalez.

Health can not wait

addition to dozens of health posts exercise, nutrition and free screenings, this year the Health Fair will also feature the participation of the Consulate of Mexico and possibly their "window of health," said Gonzalez.
Also, The Seattle Children's Hospital will have its place and will give away 500 bike helmets. In addition, other agencies take information leaflets and prevention plans for all sorts of diseases, including obesity.
"Because prevention is live. We must learn to take the screening tests, to have a long and healthy life," Gonzalez said.
