Night of the Living Dead , directed by George Romero in 1968, was a great movie and was very important for different reasons. Now, Zebediah De Soto, a young man with little experience as a director, make a 3D reimagining of the film and completely done in CGI (Computer Generated Imagery). It will also be produced by Simon West (Con Air , Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ) and Jib Polhemus. They said all three are big fans of the original film and want to make a current version of the cult film.
Needless to say, but Night of the Living Dead is a film that has been in history. Not only because she gave birth to a genre and inspired all horror movies (not much) that followed, but also because by the time it left, was a real revolution. Not to mention that reinvented the concept of zombie as known so far. For all this, and probably much more, is becoming a fully 3D remake in CGI (Computer Generated Imagery).
begin at the beginning, The film will be released under the name Night of the Living Dead: Origins and, unfortunately, George Romero is not involved in any stage. This "reimagining" of the facts, will be directed instead to Zebediah De Soto and produced by Simon West and Jib Polhemus. In the words of the director, who wrote the screenplay with David R. Schwartz, the plan is to upgrade part of the story, bringing back stories of characters and create "an anime-style."
This project will be carried out by De Soto technology it is creating, with his partner Gus Maliadoraki. Both founded New Golden Digital, a company special effects that develops hardware and software last generation. One of the many creations made by this duo is known as "The Beast" (The Beast), which allows filmmakers to direct scenes in CGI as they would with a real person.
Although De Soto does not have much experience as director, the producers saw his short War Dogs (about the war in Vietnam) and were very impressed by how he managed to make the film seem to have a much higher budget I really had. Finally, as all three are big fans of the original film and the rights in the public domain, there were no excuses not to do it. As yet there has been talk about release dates, but this goes without saying that we are very concerned about what might result from this project.
