Almost 850 million human beings every day of obligation fast The next Friday, February 11, UNITED HANDS Fast Day celebrates the Volunteer.
That same day, there are millions of people who will not eat because they have nothing to put in their mouths, in a world in which starving every day over 30,000 children under five, among the 40 million people die each year because of this.
Also on one or two children will be totally or partially blind due to vitamin deficiencies arising from poor food, and every hundred young are born, 17 percent (50 percent in some areas of the world) will underweight because their mothers have not been well nourished during pregnancy.
For them, for the most needy, UNITED HANDS instituted 34 years ago Voluntary Fasting Day, a day of reflection and solidarity with the 850 million hungry people worldwide. UNITED HANDS
invited the English to mobilize the millions of people daily fast by necessity.
Our financial contribution is important, but the gesture of "fast" or deprived of something also express our solidarity with the poorest of our world.
